I've been on TBN for just over 2 months. The community is great and I've found some great things to buy in the marketplace. There is this one handicap that I have when it comes to buying and selling and it is the fact that I am blacklisted from all PayPal services.
The Timeline
I was 15 and created an eBay/PayPal account.
Sold a ton of my old stuff and got my seller rating up.
(The revenue I made from this is not included in the $500)
I wanted to start drop-shipping but it was competitive.
Found $15 "fake" iPod Nanos on a Chinese website.
Sold 7 of them on eBay for $100 with a free $10 iTunes Card included.
The Math
7 fake iPod sales on eBay = $700
7 "fake" iPods (free dropshipping) = -$105
7 promotional iTunes Cards = -$70
REVENUE= $525
The Failure
I sold these 7 iPods in a weeks time and received 6 positive reviews when they received them (w/ one shipping complaint).
Then buyer #7 caught on and reported me.
I was a 15 year old who couldn't prove he was 18.
Charged back and got permabanned for selling fake junk.
I luckily withdrew some cash beforehand and it covered the cost of the iPods. :amuse:
