A convection center designated a maximum of 34000 square feet of floor space for trade-show exhibits. The space will be divided into two types of areas, wired and unwired zones. Wired zones are for exhibits that require electricity; each occupies 500 sq ft and accommodates 4 exhibits. Unwired zones are for exhibits that do not require electricity; each occupies 850 sq ft and accommodates 6 exhibits. There will be at least 10 of each type of zone, but no more than 40 wired zones. There is not enough space to accommodate all the companies that have applied to exhibit. Linear programming can be used to Determine how many wired zones and unwired zones should be used to accommodate as many exhibits as possible.
