Easy to SE an HP Printer?

So my friend and I just moved in to a college and we're wondering if we could get a printer from HP. We found a box in the dumpster behind our building and we cut the serial number and stuff from it. We have the Model, Serial No, Product No., Option, as well as barcodes and stuff. Think we could pull it off?
