Static and dynamic ip

Is there a way to have static and dynamic ip? :/
also how can I have a dynamic ip? do i have to pay for shit? and stufff?
I think I have a modem but its not connected ..
please halp~

How are you connecting to the internet?
If you go to whatismyipaddress.com and record that IP.
Switch whatever you use to connect to the internet off completely, wait 1 min and go back to whatismyipaddress.com

If the IP changed you have a dynamic IP

It really depends on the ISP.

I have VZW too but my grandma has a VZW she has dynamic but i have static. I have wifi but she doesn't. That is prob the reason why.
