It dosen't matter what age, you just have to give SSN and stuff. The problem with underage is most kids don't want to give their SSN and pay taxes at 14.... So yea, if you wanna earn money like an adult, gotta do other things like an adult. *Such as taxes.*

I just applied with my brothers info and shit - he is turning 18 in a few months.

So I will earn some money then fill out the form.

You don't have to be 18 to submit a W-9 (my parents told me that), the minimal age is 13. However, you will still have to manage taxes, but you will get 100% of it back until you're 18.

You don't even have to directly give them your SSN...If you wanted, you could go ahead and apply for an Taxpayer Identification Number (as an individual) and use that number in lieu of your SSN.

Only thing is, since you only get one you'll have to remember it for the rest of your life.

If you don't wanna submit a tax form, just sell your account instead. Still making money that way, but only once not all the time.

Being taxed doesn't mean the government will take more than you earn(but they'll take quite a chunk of your earnings) I don't see the harm in this. It should teach you responsibility.
